Goa police recommends government to avoid Padmavat’s release during peak tourist season

via Bollywood Hungama The period action drama Padmavati, now rechristened as Padmavat, has been the most controversial film of recent times. It has been facing trouble since a year ever since Sri Rajput Karni Sena took offence alleging that the film distorts history. It was initially to release on December 1 but faced major hurdles as the protests grew louder at that point. The Central Board Of Film Certification (CBFC), on the other hand, sent the film back, citing incomplete application. Fearing law and order problems, the film was banned in the states of Rajasthan, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Punjab. But the year ended on a good note as CBFC passed the film, after changing its name from Padmavati to Padmavat, along with many such modifications in the film. On Monday, the new release date was also announced – January 25. But the troubles seem to be far from over. The states of Rajasthan, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Punjab haven’t re…

We will not let her dignity be tarnished at any cost," read a statement issued by Rajasthan chief minister Vasundhara Raje's office. SHOCKING: Padmavat to have as many as 300 cuts

via Bollywood Hungama In mid-2016, Udta Punjab got into a major controversy after the Censor Board suggested around 89 cuts. The film talked about the drug menace that has reached epic proportions. With the election just 7-8 months away in the state, the film was seen as a threat to the ruling government in the state. As a result, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) under the chairmanship of Pahlaj Nihalani suggested insane amount of cuts. They asked for all references to Punjab, Jalandhar, Chandigarh, Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Jashanpura, Ambesar, Ludhiana and Moga to be deleted. The makers however didn’t agree to these unjust cuts. They moved the Bombay High Court that gave a decision in favour of the makers. Now, another film, the controversial and much-in-the-news period action film Padmavat, has faced a similar treatment from the CBFC, now under Prasoon Joshi. The film, earlier titled Padmavati, was to release on December 1, 2017 initially. But the fil…

INSIDE SCOOP: Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavat to release on January 25

via Bollywood Hungama It’s all systems go for the beleaguered epic Padmavati now titled Padmavat. Yes, a release date has finally been locked in, and it’s January 25th the coveted Republic Day weekend when Akshay Kumar’s R Balki starrer Pad Man, not to mention Neeraj Pandey’s Aiyaary were already scheduled. In fact when rumours of a January 25 release began doing the rounds for Padmavat, Akshay Kumar swiftly rescheduled Pad Man from January 26 to January 25. Many in the film trade dismissed the January 25 release date for Padmavat as purely conjectural. In fact a source very closely connected with Pad Man still can’t believe Padmavat is jumping the queue to make it for Republic Day. “It’s insanity. We announced the release date for Pad Man six month ago. Now for them to jump in with Padmavat at this late hour is absurd. I am still hoping they will change their mind and release later.”However, Padmavat is now confirmed for January 25. A source very close to the film…

Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh are back from their vacay

via filmfares Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh are back to the city from their vacation in Maldives. The two went to the island to celebrate Deepika’s 32nd birthday. While we still await pictures of the couple’s get away, sources close to them said that the two spent some quality time together while also following an itinerary of adventure sports.

We are sure the two needed this time off after the dragged Padmavati row and New Years and Deepika’s birthday was the right time to celebrate. And now that Padmavati has got a green signal from CBFC, the couple can further relax and wait for the release of the film.

The happy couple was spotted at the airport in their signature airport styles. While Ranveer sported a hat and his quirky shades on casuals, Deepika kept it pastel with a jumpsuit. Both topped their looks with a denim layer.

Check out the pictures of the stunning couple below.
