Superstar Kajol is busy promoting her next – Helicopter Eela. Here, she will be seen sharing the screen with National Award winner Riddhi Sen in the film. Fans are already in love with Kajol’s avatar of a strict and controlling mother in the trailer. But due to some reason, the film’s release date has been pushed to October 12, 2018. The Pradeep Sarkar directorial has explored unseen aspects of the versatile actor.

In her recent interview with a news portal, Kajol recalled her journey and how working in films like Dushman, Udhar Ki Zindagi and Bekhudi helped her learn and evolve as an actor. Directed by Rahul Rawail, Bekhudi marked Kajol’s debut in the Hindi film industry. Tanuja Chandra’s Dushman, on the other hand, was a difficult film for Kajol as she didn’t want to shoot the rape sequence. The makers then had to use a body double for that sequence in the film.

Then after doing a host of intense roles, she came to believe that she had enough of such emotionally draining films and wanted to do lighter roles. During her conversation, Kajol remembered how during the shoot of Baazigar, good friend and megastar Shah Rukh Khan had major career advice for her. “I remember Shah Rukh Khan telling me I should learn to act and I was like, ‘I am doing so fabulously well’. He told me I need to burn out as an actor. I felt, ‘he talks nonsense sometimes.’ But when I was shooting for Udhar Ki Zindagi (director K.V. Raju), I was like, ‘I can’t do films that are so heavy, it sucks so much out of you’. I did not want to do that anymore.”

Nevertheless, Kajol is truly one of the most loved and successful stars in the Indian movie business today. And each time she appears on screen, it’s memorable for her as an actor and for the viewers as well.
