The demise of Bollywood's first international and charismatic star, Shashi Kapoor, on Monday has left his family, fans and the Prithvi theatre whining behind. Born as Balbir PrithviRaj Kapoor, he left a mark of his own in the film industry and his love for theatre is unexplainable. He always rooted for real cinema. Battling a prolonged illness and due to a complaint of kidney issue, the actor was admitted to a suburban hospital on Sunday afternoon and breathed his last on Monday evening at 5.20 pm. With the scion's demise, an era of the Kapoor generation has vanished leaving behind their great work.

The condolences have been coming in from various quarters and along with the family members, the industry insiders, too, are sharing their cherishable memories with the 'Aa Gale Lag Jaa' actor. Nephew-actor Rishi Kapoor's actress-wife-Neetu Kapoor shared a black-and-white childhood image of uncle Shashi Kapoor with his father Prithviraj Kapoor. In the picture, the father-son duo is seen glued to each other's eyes. Probably the picture is from a mythological play, as Shashi ji is seen in the traditional attire of Lord Rama. Neetu Kapoor posted the image on Instagram and wrote, "Shashi uncle with his father. RIP (sic)."

While you read this, the last rites of the actor are taking place at Santacruz Crematorium, where many people from the film industry like Amitabh Bachchan, who has done close to 11 films with the star, came in with his son- Abhishek Bachchan to offer his condolences to the departed soul. Well, Bachchan had signed a unique clause with his producers that he would do a two-hero film only with Shashi Kapoor, such was their bonding. Apart from family members, Shah Rukh Khan, Jackie Shroff, Sanjay Dutt, Anil Kapoor, and many others paid their respect to the late Shashi Kapoor.
